Our Story
When this mosque was first built in the 1990s, the Muslim population in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was about 15. Today, there are over 10,000 Muslims, living mainly on the east side of town. Predominantly refugees, with limited education and financial means, the Muslim population in the area is expected to keep growing in the coming years. The current 1,200 sq. ft. Islamic Center of Sioux Falls, and second mosque in town, are significantly struggling to accommodate the vibrant population. Not only is the lack of space detrimental, the building itself faces crucial deficits. Snow and rain that fall on the roof are not properly drained, and frequently enter through to the room inside.

Friday prayer and daily prayers continue to be held in the mosque, despite the small space and debilitating conditions. Currently, there are over 80 students registered in weekend and summer classes at the mosque. We continue to promote public relations, provide wedding services, and family counseling.
Help us Serve this CommunityOur mission at ISCF is to form a homogeneous unit of Muslims from different cultures and origins across the city, to allow them to practice their Islamic faith based on the absolute belief in the oneness of Allah (SWT) and in the Prophet Mohammed is his Messenger (SAWS).
